I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with their families and loved ones. No matter how hard times seem to get I think we can usually find something to be thankful for.

Even though life has been one heck of a struggle that last few years, I still have my two great kids, who are starting to grow up despite all their efforts to resist. I have my wonderful dogs, who love me no matter how bad my day has been. I have my mom and brothers, who lend their support when it's needed, even though they live so many miles away.

And I have so many stamping friends through Stampin' Art who share not only their creative spirit, but their stories and support. I would never have imagined I could have gotten to know so many people so well, from such a distance. Thanks to all of you.

How do you like the new Newsletter?

I hope you all like the new Stampin' Art Newsletter. If you have any ideas or suggestions for future newlsetter please let me know. If people find the news and updates helpful I will send them out as often as I can, may every other week. My plan is to include news about swaps, contests, sales, new ideas, samples, and maybe even stamps for sale. It kind of depends on what's going on.

If you have any problems viewing the newsletter (missing images, links don't work, whatever) please let me know. Every e-mail program is different so it's tricky making this look good for everyone.

Snowmen Contest

Out contest in October was Snowmen. We had 9 entries and 80 people voted. I love it when more people get involved. This contest, like many others, was very close so all those votes really helped determine which samples you liked best. 1st place
#673

  2nd place
#672

3rd place
#2088

Here are the winners. Please check out the Snowmen Contest page to see all 9 samples.

Recipe Reminder

As most of you probably know, I require complete recipes for all samples submitted to the site. That includes swaps, contests, and other samples. The piece of that recipe that is most important to me is the stamp information. I need not only the stamp company name, but also the official name of the stamp. Please, please don't guess.

For Stampin' Up! stamps it's usually pretty easy, but I don't know every stamp Stampin' Up! ever made so I really need that information written in the recipe. For other companies it's a lot more work for me to find the name. I have several catalogs and I go online, but this is very time consuming for me.

So WHY is this so important to me? I take great pride in providing a thourough and helpful resource to my fellow stampers.

Every recipe is linked to more samples for each stamp used. If I don't know the company and the name, I can't link it to other samples. If you guess at the name I may make 2 different pages for the same stamp or set. Not only does this waste me time, but it's not accuracte. Sometimes I can't even include the sample as I have nowhere to put it (each sample is stored by company name and stamp name).

Hopefully everyone appreciates how each recipe is cross-referenced to the stamps and companies. Please help me do this quickly and accurately by giving me accurate information in each recipe. If you use a stamp that you don't know the name of, please do some research before submitting the example. I appreciate it very much.

Thanks for your help making this a great site.
